Dentist

I've not long been back from the dentist.  Last night I was struck by what is almost certainly yet another dental abscess.  Sigh!

Still it doesn't hurt too badly yet and I was lucky in that the dentist practice was running a skeleton emergency service and let me turn up before the surgery officially opened.

Nice elderly dentist agreed with my diagnosis and issued the standard 7-day course of ant-biotic and I made another appointment for the 3rd.

At least this holiday I haven't been left in agony for days, thank God!  It's uncanny how it always chooses bank holidays to strike, though!

Since John is going on a belated Boys' Night Out tonight, I shall probably have scrambled eggs for dinner.  It will be a bit of a relief after all that rich food, because although I've enjoyed it, I'm feeling a little jaded.  Mind you we still haven't had any Christmas pudding, Christmas cake or brandy butter.

Sorry to hear that..seems that some infections always bide their time until a really inconvenient moment.Mary has stayed an extra day because of the stinking cold she has..She is saying she is going home tomorrow but I'm dubious myself.

Anyway due to her illness she hasn't done credit to the food and I'm going to be left with mounds of food.I'm sure Mark will rise to the occasion though.

Hope the infection gets sorted by the antibiotics.

Thanks Duckie. I had a rather uncomfortable night, but the pain has eased off now. However I'm left with a very swollen face rather like those you see in kids' comics with a bandage round them, so the infection hasn't given up yet!

Mounds of food can be frozen! Or is your freezer as full as mine?

Actually It's mostly the cheese and cold meat but I can give it to William in his work sandwiches for the next three nights. The other stuff like chocolate and biscuits William and Mark will see off bit by bit until 12th night when Mark will make an heroic attempt to scour everything vaguely festive from the house.
