What a lovely day! Is it Spring?
Mar. 31st, 2008 09:25 pmI had to get up early-for-me to go to work at Caroline's today. I'd had so little sleep and felt so awful that I nearly rang up and rescheduled, but I was already up and showered, so it didn't seem reasonable to go back to bed. I don't know why it is, but it usually takes me weeks to get over the clocks going forward.
It was such a lovely morning that as soon as I started driving I was glad I'd decided to stick to the plan. It was a pleasure driving across the Town Moor and it was really warm in the car without any heating on. There was no traffic.
I had no trouble parking in the disabled space right outside the office. You'd be surprised how often at least one of the two spaces is taken up by non-disabled drivers just nipping to the pharmacy or the post office. Today it was an important man in the post office taxing his car.
I got the work done in record time, which was great because I charge for a minimum of three hours and got it done in two, and the drive home was also a pleasure. Again there was no traffic. It was so hot in the car that I had to drive with the window open. If it hadn't been for the fact that I had to go home to do something for John, I might well have driven away somewhere nice for a while.
Charles was in a really good mood. He said it's the first time for years he's felt so well and so free from depression. I'm so pleased. I mentioned that Linz had said that he needs to be eating normally in order to have the tests for coeliac disease, but that idea really upset him, especially as he is feeling so well now. We agreed that he would carry on as he is at present and go and talk to the doctor about it.
I used the stock I made and the meat I took off the goose carcass to make a goose pilaf this evening which was lovely. I was making the most of the last few days of dietary freedom because I really must sit down tomorrow with Charles and discuss what we're going to eat in future At the moment, I feel as though I'm covered from head to foot with goose fat.
I'm feeling better and better, too. This evening, without thinking, I rushed upstairs as fast as I could (not really very fast!) and realised after a few minutes that I hadn't got breathless or even given a thought to the fact that I was coming upstairs. Then I realised that I'd done the same thing at Caroline's office this morning too.
The heating is still off. I turned it off yesterday morning and no-one has noticed yet.
