Web page blues!
Apr. 29th, 2008 03:20 pmI'm feeling ghastly today. I spent the entire night coughing, except for a short window between 4.30 and 7.30 when a cat woke me by biting my feet and I immediately started non-stop coughing again!
In addition to being short of sleep, and coughing all day, I'm trying to assemble a web-site and I'm having a horrible time.
I must have downloaded 4 different programs, but they're all practically unintelligible and all I get from my friends is "Use HTML, use HTML, use HTML".
So far I've assembled an identical front page about five different times and each program has made it difficult in different ways. None of the programs will accept a page of text from Word, and PersonalWebKit which claims to do so, has a fit of the vapours when asked to import one and has to shut down because it feels faint. And I can't get any of the hootering links to work.
If I can't import my poems from Word, or WordPro, it will take me months to type everything out again. I'm not sure I have the stamina any more.
I've been looking at Fusion's web-site and it claims to be able to import Word pages, but I don't know whether I can stand to download yet another one and go through all this again.
What's really annoying me is that I should be spending this time writing the lbooyd poetry, not trying to put it on a website. This is 2008!! Why is it all so difficult?
And where's my personal robot that I was promised back in the 60s?
