Well! Really!

Well, that was very strange. LJ seems to have decided that I had written enough and posted the last entry before I had finished it and without me asking it to. Now I suppose I shall have to check it for spelling mistakes!
What I was going to say before I was so rudely interrupted is that I've also been to three sessions of Gillian's writing class and after a period when I felt I didn't have much to say, it's re-awakened my creativity; this has the effect of making me want to go to the Lit & Phil more, as I find it easier to write there than I do at home where there are so many distractions. Anyway, I just love that place! If anyone wants to see what it's like they can look at the website, although the photographs aren't all that good.

What I love about the place is that it's full of people studying and writing, reading books and magazines, well for some values of "full". When I stop and stare into space for 20 minutes while I think something out, I know that no-one is going to come and ask me solicitously if I'm all right and ruin my train of thought. It has that atmosphere of deep peace which you don't get in Civic libraries any more. Not that people don't talk to each other, but there's one particular area where people go to chat and most people seem to respect that.
And the staff are so helpful. If anything's out of reach and I can't manage the step-ladder, they'll come immediately and retrieve the book I want.
Now I really want to go there, but I can't go tomorrow as I'm being taken out for a Birthday Lunch and on Tuesday I'm working for Caroline. Let's hope I feel like it on Wednesday. By the time I've been to Gillian's class on Thursday morning I shall be worn out physically and mentally, so if I don't make it on Wednesday, I shall have to wait till Friday.
Oh well! Time to go downstairs and put the chicken in the oven.
