Late rising!

Oh God!  I feel so guilty!

I'm still sitting here in my nightie when even Charles is up and the ice-cream van is prowling the street, in spite of what I'm told is icy rain.

In my defence I should say that I'm not feeling too good after a rotten night.

Arwell. It's that Grandma-induced Protestant work-ethic, doncher know!

I am going to get dressed now, though, so I shall call it a lounging about on the sofa day. Shame there's nothing on TV this afternoon except "Monk". Charles and I love that; apart from "House" it's the viewing highlight of our week.

Why? I got up at 9.45, collected the washing, went down and put the washing on and collected breakfast and went back up to bed. I got up after The Now Show, and I'm just getting dressed after a nice long bath.

I'm going to the pictures later and may well see a couple of films. I'm really not planning on doing anything else except watching Doctor Who and ER.

Why feel guilty? All the years you were working you were up with the lark and putting in a full day doing whatever you were doing, followed by getting home and still working, looking after your menfolk.

What's retirement for, if you can't jolly well do whatever you want?
