Dreamwidth?

I've somehow managed to miss all of the stuff about Dreamwidth until it was too late to get a free account.

Who is going to migrate to Dreamwidth?

Who is going to keep up both Dreamwidth and LJ?

Is Dreamwidth going to be all that different?

Do I actually want to join?  (Obviously the answer is yes if all my flist are going to)

Has anyone an invitation I could use?

I think almost everyone is simply viewing it as a possible exit strategy, should LJ implode. Mainly because it's there, based on LJ code, and it's so easy to import a whole journal over from LJ. I can't think of anyone on my f'list who has made the move over to DW in entirety.

I just can't understand how I came to miss it. It's not as though I've been absent from LJ for any amount of time.

They made some people redundant earlier this year and there were rumours flying that it it had All Gone Horribly Wrong :-)

If I can get an invite, I might mess around with a Dreamwidth account, but I shan't leave LJ unless it collapses in a hideous heap of poo at some point :-)

I'm not going to migrate. I'm not going to actively use it. It just looks like a simple way to back up my LJ now and again, which is No Bad Thing after 6 years!

I shall stay with LJ. If it breaks, it breaks, and I'll cross that bridge if I come to it. I won't be joining Facebook or any other similar site in the foreseeable future, and probably not at all. I'm happy with what I can do on LJ.
