Wow!  That certainly did the trick!

Last night I took double my normal dose of amytriptiline and had a wonderful night's sleep.  I must have turned the light off at 1.00 and I knew nothing more till just gone 9.00.  I went to the bathroom and got back into bed leaning back on piled up pillows to listen to the radio and woke up at 11.00.  I feel really rested, but sort of hung-over with sleep, so I think I shall try just half a dose extra tonight.

John said that I was coughing a lot all night, but obviously not enough to wake me from the amytriptiline fog.

Hurrah!

We've had a glorious not-even-very-cold day today with maximum sunlight, completely contrary to the inches high piles of snow forecast.  I couldn't believe it when I opened the curtains at 9.00, to find brilliant sunlight and all the snow completely gone

As someone mentioned in the ladies loos yesterday, today is the 50th. Anniversary of The Day The Music Died.  Hard to believe I spent the whole day crying over Buddy Holly as my Sis swears I did.  But I did love him so.........

I'm so glad you got sleep! Amytriptiline used to give me a hangover so I think that bit might be normal if you took a bigger dose.
